Joint-participation on BBW From the15th to the 19th of March 2005 the exhibition Bulgaria Building Week (BBW) will take place in Sofia. European Partners are arranging an international stand where interested companies can show their products. BBW apply to a wide range of companies within the building and construction sector. All kind of participants from these sectors can therefore be expected such as design and construction, building materials, heating and cooling, sanitary equipment, alarm systems, all kind of consulting etc. The exhibition will be held for the fifth time in a row in 2005, and this year 300 companies participated and 12,800 visited the show, which cover an area around 6,500 m2. European Partners (EP) intentions by this initiative is both to attract European companies, that already are represented in Bulgaria but want some extra exposure, together with companies that want to enter the Bulgarian market and get in contact with potential customers or partners for their products and services. Participating on EP's stand is very flexible, and it can of course be combined with some of our services such as initial market research, partner identification etc. EP will be in charge and take care of all matters before, during and after the exhibition. At all time there will be both English and Bulgarian speaking personal on the stand. The participating companies can choose to come and present their products themselves doing the whole show or just some of the days; another option is to leave everything in the hands of European Partners to be carried out. For further information about the stand, price, and registration please contact Project Manager Michael Wielandt by phone: +45 70 20 00 68 or email: mw@ep-dk.dk |

Bulgaria Bulgaria that has a population of around 8 million people is centrally placed in Southeast Europe, and is a junction for the trade between Little Asia and Western Europe. Bulgaria expects to join the European Union in 2007 and the preparations are still intensive. As a part of the preparations Bulgaria receives considerable support from different EU-funds to develop the administrative and economic sectors. Support from EU, EBRD, The World Bank and foreign investment plays a significant role for the Bulgarian economy, and that will continue up to the EU membership. The politics of the government has - despite the unpopularity - delivered the foundation for some solid macroeconomics results the past few years. The GDP raised by 4.5% in 2003, and the unemployment rate has dropped to 14% in the beginning of 2004. |
||
| The inflation is still very low, only 2.3% in 2003, and the positive development is expected to continue in 2004 and 2005. In regards of foreign investments the progress is also noticeable, as they after a relative poor year in 2002 was doubled to USD 1.34 billion in 2003. For the first time, the actual numbers were in level with the governments aim to attract USD 1-1.2 billion in foreign investments a year.
The export potential of building materials is obvious - especially in Sofia. New buildings are rising rapidly and a great number of the existing buildings are being renovated. Tourism is also an interesting sector, and it is growing and a very important activity for the economy. The coastline along the Black Sea is an extremely popular place for domestic and foreign tourists, and even though the existing holiday resorts continually are extended with new build hotels, new resorts are being planed. |
